At the project outset specialist works were undertaken to improve flood protection measures to the perimeter of the property utilising specialist flood defence products.
The lower ground floors were completely refurbished to create a new, modern bar and restaurant with new commercial kitchens that were destroyed by the floods. Further works included the complete refurbishment of the existing hotel bedrooms, staff accommodation and the reinstatement of the existing beer garden including a flood protection wall. The plumbing, heating and electrical systems were also completely replaced as part of the works.
